DNB (Diplomate of National Board) is a postgraduate medical qualification in India awarded by the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS). Admission to DNB courses is done through the NEET-PG exam for broad specialties and NEET-SS for super-specialties, depending on the level of training. DNB programs are considered equivalent to MD/MS (for broad specialties) and DM/MCh (for super-specialties) as per medical regulations in India. The course duration is usually 3 years after MBBS (or after MD/MS for super-specialty DNB). Training is conducted in accredited hospitals, including private and government institutions, and focuses heavily on clinical exposure and hands-on practice. After completion, doctors can work as specialists, pursue academic roles, or further super-specialization depending on their field.
